GNM Admission Criteria
Age
The candidates age must be at-least - 17 (Seventeen) years to Maximum age of 35 (Thirty-Five) years on the 31st December of the same year of the session.
Nationality
Shall be a citizen of India and a permanent resident of West Bengal uninterruptedly for at least last five years.
Marital Status
Married / Unmarried / Widow / Divorcee / Separated all are eligible.
Education
- Higher Secondary (10 + 2) Examination or equivalent.
- Higher Secondary Certificate & Mark sheet from a Recognized Board / Council with minimum 40% marks in aggregate, with 40% marks in English.
- National Institute of open schooling are also eligible.
- Registered ANM who are W.B. State Govt. employee, 3 years of uninterrupted experience.
Admission Procedure
- The candidates have to Register at the official website of West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination Board (WBJEEB) and apply online application form for "Common Entrance Test for ANM (R) and GNM Courses" with payment of Examination fees.
- The candidates have to go through Online Counselling process conducted by West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination Board (WBJEEB) and Central Selection Committee (GNM Nursing) for allotment of seat and admission in the Nursing School. (Follow site "https://wbjeeb.nic.in/GNM*).
Hostel
Hostel is mandatory for all the students. In lieu of hostel Fees accommodation would be provided along with Transportation facilities. Food is provided in lieu of mess charge and charge may vary subject to market price.
Uniform
The uniform is compulsory to be worn in the institute as well as during clinical works in hospital & Community.
Vacations & Holidays
Rules laid down by WBNC
- Annual vacation 4weeks per year for 1st and 2nd year students
- Annual leave 15 days for 3rd year students including internship.
- Preparatory leave 7days for all the students.
Fees
- Clinical Fees - A fee of Rs.100/- per month per student to be paid to concern Govt. Hospitals as per order of Govt. of West Bengal, Directorate of Health Services, Swasthya Bhawan.
- Registration Fees: The students have to pay to WBNC Rs. 130 per student for Registration in First year and Rs.1030/- per student after passing out for Final Registration certificate.
- Examination Fees: The student has to pay to WBNC Rs.530/- as examination fees for appearing in final Examination of each year.
